Is Pantone Colour of the Year 2025 a colour you'd consider in your home?
Introducing Pantone Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse.
Just before Christmas, PANTONE announced Mocha Mousse as their Colour of the Year for 2025.
Described as “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort”.
The name doesn’t really do it for me, as it reminds me of the dessert Angel Delight we used to have as kids back in the 1980’s. I was never a fan, maybe because I always ended up with the part that hadn’t been quite whisked up enough with the milk and was a congeal of flavoured powder. Tasty!
Anyhow, even though I’m not a fan of the name, I am very much loving PANTONE’s colour choice for 2025. It’s a humongous improvement on previous colour selections, such as last years Peach Fuzz (I still can’t stand the name), 2023’s Viva Magenta or even Very Peri from 2022. For a lover of all things warm and earthy like myself, it’s extremely adaptable if you’re wanting to incorporate into your own home.
“Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”

Simple and Comforting:
This warm, soft brown perfectly encapsulates the collective desire for comfort, connection, and indulgence, inviting us to create spaces that nurtures balance, stability and inspire elegance to our home design.
This stunning colour palette from PANTONE titled Relaxed Elegance, beautifully showcases a selection of warm neutral tones that can be mixed and matched depending on the final look you’re aiming to achieve.
How to style Mocha Mousse in your home
Consider using Mocha Mousse as either a feature wall in your home or as an accent in furniture.
You can’t go wrong combining creamy neutrals for the perfect contrast against the warm, earthy tones of Mocha Mousse.
I’m a huge fan of combining natural wood finishes when it comes to interiors, and the right tone of brown combines perfectly.
For an add of sophistication brass, gold or copper tones can work really well together with Mocha Mousse.
So, what are your thoughts? Do let me know in the comments if Mocha Mousse is a colour you would consider using in your home.
Next week, I’ll be sharing my monthly colour montage, which will be taking inspiration from this weeks Mocha Mousse, showcasing a selection of beautiful warm, rich, earthy tones to tantalise your taste buds. Plus, The Bathroom Diaries will be back this Sunday.
If you’re looking for advice on which colour scheme to choose for your next project, feel free to book a free consultation.
Until then, enjoy your weekend.

I usually roll my eyes at Pantone’s yearly declaration but this year I actually like it! I was planning to use a dusty rose Venetian plaster in the powder room of the how we are renovating already so yes I would use it :)
Happy New Year Sonya. Well, I do remember Angel Delight too, a blast from the past! I can see why you love Mocha Mousse, definitely up your street. The image of your lounge is perfect as an example of using natural woods, which this shade would really complement. It’s got a beautiful tone & if I could ever be brave enough, I would consider it for sure. Look forward to your montage. Good to have you back 🤎
