I’m Sonya, the Home Stylist, supporting busy homeowners in transforming their house into a place that feels calm, cohesive and, truly personal.
I live in the beautiful county of Suffolk, England, with my partner Darren and our two beagles, Dizzee and Rascal.
My Career Journey
I studied Textiles at Bolton Institute and have always had a passion for interiors, design and art. After graduating, my career led me into the exciting world of sports; working for global brands like Reebok, New Balance, and ASICS.
Today, I split my time between running my home styling business and my “day job,” working on a new venture; launching an apparel brand set to debut next year.
My international experiences, especially living in The Netherlands for five years; has allowed me to explore an eclectic mix of interior styling, which I bring into both my own home and my clients’ projects.

Why Substack?
I began blogging to share my love of styling, interiors and colour; but despite my efforts on Instagram, engagement remained low and increasingly disheartening.
Then I discovered Substack; a platform free from the algorithm, built around community, that encourages real connection and delivers my weekly posts straight to your inbox.
As I fell out of love with Instagram’s ever-changing rules, I decided to take back control, and stopped posting regularly. You can read more about that journey [here].
After months of consideration, I’ve decided to close my website. From August, all content related to Sonya the Home Stylist will be available exclusively here on Substack.
Maintaining a website has become costly, and dealing with constant technical issues (that hosting companies never seem to care about) just isn’t worth it anymore.
It’s time to cut my losses and focus purely on Substack.
