Be inspired by Benjamin Moore Colour of the Year 2025: Cinnamon Slate
A monthly colour montage to inspire your home
It feels like ages since I last shared a colour montage with you. I normally would have shared this with you last week, but with Christmas rapidly approaching I wanted to ensure you received my bonus Christmas gift recommendations from Suffolk in time to review and consider purchasing, before it’s too late.
However, normal business resumes and there are no signs of Christmas gift guides, decor styling or last minute Christmas preparations to share with you this week. Just back to sharing good old fashioned interior inspiration.
A few weeks ago, Benjamin Moore revealed their Colour of the Year 2025: Slate Cinnamon. As far as colour of the years go, I really love this tone.
If you missed my post you can catch up here:
I prefer thoughtful interior design choices that are timeless and suit your home, lifestyle, and personality. However, with how beautiful this tone is, I’ve chosen Cinnamon Slate as the inspiration for this months colour montage, described as:
“A delicate blend of heathered plum and velvety brown, Cinnamon Slate offers an enduring yet modern appeal”.
This weeks post is more visual, sharing a selection of beautiful, inspirational images, that I hope you’ll love too.
Please do let me know your thoughts.
01.
It only makes sense to start this colour montage with an actual image from the Benjamin Moore collection.
It pairs beautifully with Glacier White and the rich, warm tones of wooden furniture.
02.
The tones in this still-life photo are perfect for this months colour montage and would create a beautiful colour palette, especially for a bedroom, with its soft, subtle tones.
03.
This image is from Skandium, a retailer of iconic and modern Scandinavian design and lifestyle products for the home. While this is to showcase the light pendant (Ceramic Pendant), I loved the use of colour tones, particularly on the walls and the skirting board, which is a complimentary soft grey-blue tone that works well.
04.
This tone is perfect for a bedroom. The subtle, romantic tones create a beautiful, tranquil feel, with a feminine touch.

This image from Alexandre Turpault uses a slightly more rose-pink tone.
Complemented by both a neutral off-white and the contrast of black, it works very effectively. I particularly like the finishing touch of gold, or even copper, would work very effectively.
06.
This bedroom space by Niki Brankmark offers a more neutral take on the Cinnamon Slate, with fewer grey-mauve tones. However, it demonstrates how the colour palette of natural linen, rich plums and rich, chocolatey cushions can be beautifully integrated.
07.
A more dusky-rose tone compared to the purple-grey of Cinnamon Slate. Inspired by the watercolour print of Pulse from Sabba Design.
08.
A second image from Niki Brantmark of @myscandinavianhome using a slightly paler tone compared to Benjamin Moore’s Cinnamon Slate. Here, Blushing Peach from the Jotun paint collection has been used.
Combined with muted, earthy tones inspired by nature, it shows just how well these colours work together.
That concludes this months colour montage and will be my last post until the new year (with the exception of The Bathroom Diaries series).
I'm going to be taking a break to enjoy the Christmas holiday, although we still have a lot to do on the bathroom extension before I can totally switch off. I will continue to share our progress up until the 22nd of December (though I'm hoping we'll be nearly finished by then, keeping everything crossed).
Look out for this week's encounter, available on Sunday.
Until then, enjoy the start of your weekend.

Nice. I particularly like number 3, the Skandium image, all the tones compliment each other perfectly. Again, just wish I was brave enough to veer over to the darker side 😬 Thanks for your weekly posts Sonya, always enjoyable even if I don’t always get chance to read them straight away. Appreciate the time you put into it & hope that Substack continues to be a success for you moving forward. Merry Christmas 🎄xx
