Who doesn’t love a bit of H&M Home?
With a price range from a very affordable £70 up to a more modest price of £450 H&M has a fabulous selection of coffee tables to suit all budgets.
One of my particular favourites is the:
1: Asymmetric Coffee Table
Priced at just under £250, it’s at the slightly higher end of the price spectrum, however is a gorgeous modern, asymmetric design which takes inspiration from the House of Isabella design, however at a staggering £1,076, this is a very good affordable alternative.
Even cheaper still is H&M’s alternative coffee table at an incredible price of just £79.
One of my favourite interior stores is Soho Home.
With so many gorgeously designed pieces, you’re spoilt for choice on what they have on offer, although it often does come at a cost.
2: Barrel Coffee Table
Intricately designed with smooth oak cylinders that create its characteristic barrel shape. Costing £1,295 (or the reduced members price of £1,101) it’s not going to be available for everyones budget.
I have managed to find two really good alternative options at a fraction of the cost.
3: Rondo Marble Coffee Table
This coffee table from Atkin and Thyme is an amazing alternative to the Soho Home option, above at almost a third of the price at £429!
Combining a textured base made from sustainable mango wood with a marble top this is a stunning piece of furniture for any contemporary living room.
4: Boardwalk Coffee Table
On a tighter budget, looking for a modern, contemporary coffee table?
M&S have this fabulous option with striking slated base for just £199, which is a brilliant find.
5: Metric Walnut Coffee Table
If like me, you love the rich, warm colour of walnut, you’re going to love this ultra modern coffee table from Tikamoon.
Priced at £699 it’s by no means matching high street pricing, however for a solid, quality piece of furniture this is well worth the price.
6: Glass Top Coffee Table
I love the combination of wood with glass and this coffee table, another favourite from H&M Home is a beautiful design, yet very reasonably priced at just under £200.
7: Blenheim Coffee Table
If you’re looking for something slightly different, you may be interested in the Blenheim coffee table part of the M&S x Fired Earth collaboration.
With its sculptural silhouette and mixed material of luxurious real marble sitting on oak veneer legs, it offers a modern-rustic look, giving an alternative to either a solid wooden table, or the traditional glass top with wooden legs.
8: Mason Marble Effect Coffee Table
If alternative materials is what you’re looking for in a coffee table, you may be interested in the Mason Coffee Table from Atkin and Thyme.
Made using concrete with a marble-finish effect to create the illusion of a hand carved solid stone coffee table. An elegant design at an affordable price of £499.
9: Abstract Black Mango Wood Coffee Table
A beautiful statement piece of furniture made from textured mango wood, the chunky wooden tabletop is supported by abstract legs.
From Rockett St George this design that needs little-to-no styling to make a statement, simply pair it with your favourite coffee table books to complete the look.
10: Cookham Reclaimed Wooden Coffee Table
Now, this is one the more expensive coffee table choices in this months guide, at £1,400, however it is a really beautiful piece of craftsmanship, which is why I’ve chosen to include this coffee table from Layered Lounge in this weeks shopping guide.
This beautiful wooden coffee table has been made from reclaimed elm wood and given an elegant grey wash finish. The round surface sits on top of T-shaped legs which adds a geometrical dimension to the shape.
11: Irregular Acacia Centre Coffee Table
If you’re interested in a coffee table with T-shaped legs, and don’t have a spare £1,400 to spend, this irregular acacia design from Zara Home may be the answer.
So where my final two finds may not be accessible to everybody, it may inspire you to think slightly differently when it comes to choosing your next piece of furniture.
I believe our homes should enjoy not only practical and functional pieces of furniture, but truly beautiful pieces of craftsmanship, no different to sculptures in an art gallery.
14: Vitra Noguchi Coffee Table
One of the things I love about John Lewis is how they offer items for any budget, with their ANYDAY range to premium designers like Tom Raffield or Isamu Noguch.
The stylish and distinctive coffee table designed by Isamu Noguchi is a striking centrepiece for any living area.; designed with a unique curved triangular shaped glass tabletop resting on sculpted wooden legs.
This coffee table elegant spans the delicate line between sculptural art and practical furniture.
At its launch, the Noguchi coffee table was described as:
‘sculpture-for-use’ and ‘design for production’
15: Gia Coffee Table
The Gia coffee table set is striking in both form and function. The solid block style can be configured to create two geometric tables, with both tabletops constructed from an Italian honed Royal Diana marble.
At a staggering price tag of over £3,500 I don’t think too many of us will be rushing out to purchase this coffee table set for our home.
However, it goes back to my reference where we should consider both practical and beautiful pieces of craftsmanship when choosing furniture for our home.
So, that concludes, this months shopping guide.
Have I tempted you with any of my suggestions? Or maybe there’s a product you’d like me to cover in next months shopping guide.
