With autumn well and truly upon us, I thought it made sense to share an autumn-inspired colour montage with you this month to embrace the beginning of cooler temperatures and shorter days (at least here in the UK).
I’m very much a summer baby, although as I’ve got older, I really try to embrace each season.
I’m not a fan of the relentless rain we tend to endure this time of year, however, I do enjoy the autumnal glow of dusky mornings and the setting mid-afternoon sunshine.
My garden is slowly preparing for the hibernation of winter, with the bright greenery from summer turning to deep, rich burgundy tones before the leaves prepare to fall.
And I do enjoy cosy evenings snuggled under a throw on the sofa, often with one of the dogs curled up by my side.
So, if you’re fully embracing the joys of autumn and love the warm, rich colours associated with this time of year, I’m sure you’re going to love this months colour montage which I’ve arranged.
If you’ve missed my previous colour montages you can catch up here:
When preparing my colour montages, I don’t just take inspiration from interior design. I find inspiration from a number of different sources; from travel, nature, art, furnishings, and exteriors, to name a few.
This months montage is no exception, where I’ve been inspired by so many different sources.
I do hope you enjoy this months direction; I’d love to hear your thoughts.

This stunning wall covering from the AVENTURA collection by Casamance captures the charm of the small Italian village of Monterosso. Using a blend of rich colours, this design depicts the village bathed in sunlight; perfect for an autumn-inspired colour palette of ochres, rustic reds and chalky off-whites, adding warmth and elegance to any room.
02.
Nature really is mind-blowing!
This palette, crafted from natural pigments, truly showcases the beauty our planet has to offer.
If you’re fascinated by natural pigments, Heidi’s Instagram account is a must see. Her work captures such intense, vibrant colours that are just perfect for autumn.
The intense colours are really something else and absolutely perfect for autumn.

A truly fabulous colour palette, focused on plum tones offering a very moody, autumn-inspired vibe.
Cleo Scheulderman’s work is truly inspiring, both in her colour combinations and the way she styles each room.

Tiles are a fabulous source of colour inspiration (alongside wall coverings). These natural terracotta hexagon-shaped tiles offer a beautiful mix of rustic hues, perfect for the autumn season.

Now, if this image from N F M Design doesn’t give off the autumn vibes, I don’t know what will.
Captured in collaboration with The Secret Souk in Marrakech, Morocco, the rich, tangerine walls against the warm chalky whites and the silver-grey leaves of the olive trees are stunning.
As I’ve mentioned before, I take inspiration for many different subjects when creating colour palettes for my clients.

If anyone is in doubt of using orange in their home, hopefully this photo from the Hoxton Hotel x Bauwerk collaboration will hopefully change your mind.
Inspired by the dreamy, desaturated tones of the Mediterranean, this rustic orange combined with the natural wood tones creates a gorgeous autumnal combination.

Not only is this image the perfect autumn colour palette, the photography from George Steinmetz is just incredible. Do check out his work, if you’re not familiar with him.
This neighbourhood in Brooklyn, New York is so cool!

Finally, for my last image, one from the archives.
I discovered Lorene Edwards Forkner's work on Instagram (@gardenercook), although it seems she has moved away from Instagram when I searched for her account this week. However, I was delighted to find
right here on Substack!Lorene embarked on a 100-day garden-based project, creating gorgeous watercolour palettes inspired by something she’d find in her garden, whether it be a colourful bloom or piece of foliage.
